From March 6 to 8 different farmers’ field days (FFDs) have been organized across the Munshiganj district, the first pilot area of GEOPOTATO. During the FFDs results of the GEOPOTATO demo fields were shown and discussed with farmers, extension and other stakeholders. In the demo fields the control of late blight according farmers’ practice and GEOPOTATO’s decision support system were compared. Although crop management data still needs to be analysed in detail the average yields of the GEOPOTATO fields were approximately 9% higher than in the fields where late blight was controlled according to farmers’ practice. A very promising outcome!
